Join us for a hands-on visible mending workshop led by mentor and designer, Saskia Weir

Upskill in a evening class designed to equip you with vital repair skills to add longevity and creativity to some of your best-loved garments.

Our new workshop series is all about visible mending. Sew Social will teach you to fix your most treasured items. Saskia celebrates visible repair within her business Mend House, operating out of Brighton. She hosts small, intimate workshops offering a supportive space for guests to truly engage and immerse themselves in the art of clothing repairs.

The class includes all materials needed, including tools, fabrics and threads and a booklet providing in depth instructions on different methods of repairing to get you started at home!

Rodney Deluxe

Saskia Weir

Saskia has a background in Fashion Design and Business Studies from The University of Brighton and has worked for an established menswear designer for the last three and a half years, running garment and accessory production for mainline, special projects and e-com.

Alongside this, she founded MEND HOUSE in 2020 with a mission to reduce waste within the fashion industry. MEND HOUSE specialises in repairing sentimental items, breathing new life into favourite objects, and therefore reducing her clients on the planet.

MEND HOUSE also offers clothing repair workshops, which equip you with vital repair skills in a calming and holistic environment. Recent workshops with Eftec and The Good Life Society have reconfirmed their belief that by participating in a MEND HOUSE workshop, not only are you contributing to a more sustainable lifestyle, but also bringing a sense of calm and wellbeing to your busy lives.

Participants report feeling calmer having been fully immersed in a MEND HOUSE workshop, an invaluable feeling. A workshop with MEND HOUSE will leave you feeling revitalised, having shared in a common purpose, whilst also coming away with a great foundation of knowledge of repairing garments.
